Our History
Coleby Allotments was established in 2008 as an independent allotment association in a site situated in between Coleby and West Halton (see map on contact us page). The Association is independent in the sense that it is not run by the local Council.
Although the Allotment site is called Coleby allotments, the plots are available to anyone in West Halton and further afield.
In 2008, the small area of land owned by the Parish Council, which is rented to a local farmer was used to establish 9 new plots.
In the early days, plot holders were local residents of Coleby.
Today, members of the Association are still mostly local residents who live within a mile or so of the site. But quite a few now come from further afield, including some from Winteringham.
